Pre-Op / Post-Op Instructions
What to expect during your LASIK
- You will be given a mild sedative to help you relax.
- Dr. Boling will use a special instrument so that blinking is not a problem.
- Alcaine drops are used to anesthetize your eye.

- The actual LASIK procedure takes approximately 3.5 minutes for each eye.
- The Intralase LASIK procedure utilizes two lasers; Intralase and the VISX STARS 4.
- IntraLase Video (2.2mb)
- There will be a period of 15 to 20 minutes between lasers. You will be relaxing in a recliner, as the natural pumping action of your eye clears the bubbles -see video.
- After the procedure you will be wearing clear plastic goggles to protect your eyes.
- You will wear these goggles until you awaken the next morning.
- You will continue to wear this protective shield for 1 week only while sleeping.
- You will be given drops to use after your LASIK (see LASIK post-op instructions).
- Dr. Boling will examine your eyes the 1st day, 1 week, 4 weeks, and 3 months after your laser procedure. Your referring family eye doctor will be involved in your pre and post operative care.
