Dr. John S. Kim, M.D.
John S. Kim, M.D., grew up as the child of an Air Force officer and lived as far away as Okinawa, Japan. He has always considered southwest Michigan his home base – especially since many relatives continue to live in the area.
From 1986 to 1992, he attended and graduated from Andrews Academy and Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. In 1996, he received his medical degree from Loma Linda University in California. After a one-year internship at ettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, he completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He completed his glaucoma fellowship training under Paul Kaufman, M.D. at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinic in Madison. From 2001-2003, Dr. Kim practiced general ophthalmology at the Guam Seventh-Day Adventist Clinic as a medical missionary and had the opportunity to fly to Saipan for monthly outreach clinics.
Dr. Kim is certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology. His practice focuses on no stitch/no
patch cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment and
surgery. He is pleased to offer his expertise to the
residents of Michiana as the only fellowship-trained
glaucoma specialist in Northern Indiana
.

- “Blitz” anesthesia Trabeculectomy with Mitomycin C (MMC)
- Combined glaucoma/cataract surgery (phaco/trab)
- Glaucoma tubes/shunts

- Laser Trabeculoplasty
Dr. Kim maintains office hours in Mishawaka, Elkhart
and Goshen. He performs surgery at Unity Surgical
Arts and Goshen Ambulatory Care Center.
